Even myself was overwhelmed and very impressed by the opening scene as the stadium transformed into the British Countryside 'Green and pleasant', which included real farmyard animals.
"Our Isles of wonder salutes and celebrates the exuberant creativity of the British genius in an Opening ceremony that we hope will be as unpredictable and inventive as the British people", said Danny Boyle, Artistic Director of the London 2012 Olympic opening ceremony.
The opening ceremony wasn't a disaster. The weather was just right, which made everything go perfectly. The way the ceremony was organised, was circumspect, its a skill to do something so that it turns out perfectly, thumbs up to the organisers
ReplyDeleteThumbs up, I agree with you Loyiso as it takes time, dedication and creativity to plan such a perfect event. Thanks to the weather again for not being jealous and ruining the whole thing.
DeleteThe openning ceremony was a boom, they did not select the 2012 olympics as the best from the previous one's. It took some planning to get this wonderful ceremony.
ReplyDeleteIt was a boom but what are you talking abot when you say they did not select the 2012 olympics as the best from the previous one's. Please get back to me if you can.
DeleteI have to say that the event was well organised. I am not a fan of Olympics but that opening made me to want to see more of the Olympic Games.
ReplyDeleteThat is what good planning is all about, dragging people to want more....myself am not a fan of sport but that opening really waked me up.
DeleteAnd not forgting a lot of experience in planning big events such as this one.I must say that I did not watch the opening ceremony but by just reading this post I felt how power the opening was.Big-up to events co-ordinators because without them there is no a successful event.
ReplyDeleteI have to agree with you Moimane, the event organisers must really have a lot of experience in this field to be able to plan such a big and inspirational event.
Deletethe opening was on point.i just wanted to see more.
ReplyDeleteThat is one of the Event organisers objectives to see you wanting more their goodwork. We shold really learn from them because n afew years to come some of us will have such events to organise.
Deletei really did not watch the opening but so far i could see that the olympic really are doing a good job in making good media coverage and broadcasting and as for the closing ceremony on Sunday it was well done
ReplyDeleteThe closing ceremony was also on point. And i have to say you missed a lot regarding the opening ceremony Grace.
Deletethe opening ceremony was on-standard,the settings and lights were perfect
ReplyDeleteNot only the lights and settings but everything was just perfectly planned and very interesting as we also learnt about the history of london.
DeleteThe opening ceremony was a success because it was well organised.
ReplyDeleteIt was indeed my friend. I just cannot wait for the other coming olypics to take part, i still have that sporty spirit in me.
DeleteI dont know much about olympics games hope i will learn more from your blog.I am glad Miss Semenya won a silver mental for South Africa I am proud of her.
ReplyDeleteSemenya did her level best in the olympics and she won a silver medal which we should all be very proud of as a nation because not anyone would be capable of doing what she has done.
Deletei think the opening event was well planned but too costly
ReplyDeleteIt takes money to make money clive. if you dont want to spend money you will end up planning events that will not have quality or interest to many people.
DeleteYah I also have to say that it was a night to remember...well palnned.
ReplyDeleteA night that us as upcoming Public Relations Practitioners should imagine as one of those we made possible.
DeleteThe guys who organised the olympics opening and the ceremony itself went through extreme measures to ensure the event went very well so well done to them because this is a skill that we can take and learn from these guys.
ReplyDeleteTrue that Vincent, we only counting a few years if not months before many of us as upcoming Public Relations Practitioners be exposed to such event planning and organising. We must learn from such kind of event organisers.
DeleteReading this blog I have to say that the opening was a success, it just goes to show that with proper planning there is no need to expect any crisis but if somethin happens a back-up plan is already in line.
ReplyDeleteThats a good thing you have raised there, a back-up plan is very important for any event because one may never know what the future holds.
Deletei think that is true, it helps to hire competent people who are skilled to do the job.....it was a job well done from the organesers, PRP, markteng team and evryon who was involved
ReplyDeleteA job well done indeed. sometimes it doent help to hire less skilled people to do the job just because you want to save on costs.
